We are delighted to invite you to join South Kolkata Photogenic, a vibrant community of amateur photographers dedicated to the art and passion of photography. Established in 2016 and registered as a society by the Government of West Bengal, our club has been a hub for creativity, learning, and camaraderie for over a decade. Our club premises is also equipped with a studio floor with latest gadgets and it is completely air-conditioned, which is an exclusive establishment in our state.

We organise four evaluation processes in each quarter of the year with five different theme/divisions.

Form 2022 we have introduced the Image Evaluation System, where all the images are being evaluated by two panels of Jurors. After the scoring, the ranking is obtained and Hon’ble Juror meet all the club members in an interactive session on the evaluation of all the images.
Year 2020 was a nightmare to the world. We were locked inside our residence. No world has been found for a long long time. But we never stopped our activities like our intra-club contest. Year 2021 gave some fresh air, but activities of photography didn’t came under normalcy for almost ten months. Still we continued our contest programme. And this the first time, we introduced a contest on series of four images on a particular theme of authors’ choices. This album presents winning images of all the contests held in 2021.
This year is tremendous for all of us..everything is locked. We can’t even see each other with a real face. Still our intra-club contests are on. Judging are done online but eminent juries made is easy and perfect. We are to go for two more contests. Let us pray , the situation will be restored by this time.
We organised four quarterly contests in in 2019. We started the programme in 2018. Since then we organised eight such contests in two years. In each contest we confer awards to best three images and on the basis of points acquired throughout the year, we select best of three for the respective year. Among four such contests, one is held as print contests. So far as eminent artists took the chair of judges like, Amitabha Sil, Tapan Kumar Das, Swapan Mukherjee, Subrata Bysack,, Dipankar Dasgupta, Sanat Kumar Das, Koshal Basu, Saibal Mondal, Manash Das, Suvojit Biswas, Pinki Ghosh Guha

4th Members’ Exhibition, EASEL 2019 staged from 19-21 October 2019 at Gallery Gold, Kolkata. A total of 81 images were displayed.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Subrata Bysack, GMPSA/P, EFIAP/G.
Lifetime achievement felicitation were given to Sri Shanti Ram Mondal and Sri Parthasarathi Sarkar.
Contemporary photo artists, Sri Raj Sarkar gave a presentation on Street Photography and Sri Koshal Basu took us to a tour in Masaimara, Africa with his spell-bounding clicks.

Easel 2017 was our 2nd Members’ Exhibition, staged on 17th to 20th September 2017 at Gallery Gold, Kolkata. Sri Nupur Kumar Roy, EFIAP, EFIP/G inaugurated the exhibition on 17th Sep,17.
Life Time Acheivement Felicitation were given to Sri Tushar Kanti Dutta and Sri Asim Kumar Bhattacharya.
Sri Anindya Majumder and Sri Manash Das gave presentation on Ladakh and Photo Travel respectively.
Awards of our first national salon , Easel were also given to awardee. The digital exhibition of this national salon was also arranged throughout four days of the exhibition
EASEL 2016 was our First embers’ Exhibition. It was held from 19 to 21 August 2016 at Gallery Gold, Kolkata.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Bibek Das, one of the most reckoned Commercial Photo Artist in India.
Sri Debidas Banerjee and Sri Tapan Kumar Das were conferred on Life Time Achievement felicitaion.
Sri Sayan Sarkar, EFIAP and Sri Nirmalya Bhattacharya and Smt. Saswati Chakraborty were presenters of photography on Section wise images in Salon and Images on Tribes in India respectively.
South Kolkata Photogenic organise Photo Tour in every year. So far, we had great experience with camera in Rajasthan , Purulia, Varanasi, Belpahari, Bolpur,Monglajodi. We organise such kind of programme for our members only.
We organise photography workshop in natuaal light and also in studio light environment. We organise three such workshop in studio light portrait and two still life shoot and two image editing workshop.
Foot Steps…..we like to call it a movement, a passage with camera eyes opened to the world….we organised a day long programme at Sarat Smriti Sadan , South Kolkata on 28 April 2018 where four eminent travellers and equally masters with camera shown their journey of Photo Travel and Photo Journalism. They were Ratanlal Biswas, Late Sri Dipankar Ghosh, Joydeep Mitra and Subrata Bysack………….more than 100 participants attended the programme and we proudly say that this is the first ever initiative in Kolkata…here are some moments…

The course duration is 14 weeks. The faculty is formed with eminent Photo Artists in Kolkata who are specialists in the fields of there chapters in the course. This Photography course covers very basic sense of Photography , camera handling, control over exposures and colours along with special teaching on various types of Photography, like, Street Photography, Landscape Photography, Nature Photography, Portrait Photography, Still life & Product Photography, Travel Photography, Photo Story, Event Photography, Studio Light Portrait Photography, and also basic concepts of Image Editing.
Classes are held in air-conditioned class room with audio-visual presentation with sophisticated monitor and sound system.
Students will get opportunities to attend two mandatory photo outing for practical in Kolkata City along with the outing of the club as optional events.
We assure every participants to learn the most updated concept and method of Photography from its theoretical understanding and practical application. We don’t hire the infrastructure, rather we accommodate all the students in our own infrastructure at the most convenient place , which is a stone throwing distance from Metro Station and well connected by buses also from anywhere in Kolkata.
We also provide most updated course materials and also allow students to attend all the seminars and discussions of the club held during the course, which can help everyone to be familiar with the eminent senior artists.
